Life at CommunityAd – Exciting times!

LifeAtCommunityAd - Exciting Times!

To start this week’s update, it has been very quiet in our admin department due to sickness and holiday. We have been very lucky that Aimee has absolutely bossed her new role which involves her being dedicated to the artwork for our digital sales as advertisers booking advertisements on our website has been increasing at an alarming rate! Exciting times! On top of this, Aimee has covered for 2 missing members of the team majority of the week! Thank you for your hard work Aimee and well done to Sarah for continuing to drive our website sales..

Meanwhile, recruiting platform Indeed is down which isn’t very helpful when we are currently looking to hire more distributors for our magazines. If you or somebody you know enjoys walking and wants to earn whilst walking delivering our magazines then do get in touch! Also, whilst we’re on the subject of hiring, if you know anybody with sales experience that has a hungry attitude for success – CommunityAd will be looking for more sales staff from the New Year as we continue to work towards our nationwide goal! Exciting times and the perfect opportunity to get involved with our team as we expand! Now’s the time!!

In editorial, Matt enjoyed speaking with Whitstable based portrait artist Ben Dickson as he discussed his mural masterpiece and two year ‘labour of love’ that was recently finished in Oxford Street. The mural is an image (and quote) of the English playwright, novelist and short-story writer Somerset Maugham who grew up in Whitstable. Having starting campaigning for this Mural in 2019 through GoFundMe, Ben tells CommunityAd how he hopes his work will help re-ignite Maugham’s connection with the town…exciting times! You can read all about this in our upcoming Whitstable CommunityAd Magazine!

Alice spoke to St. Andrews Church in Deal about the Pet Blessing Service held to mark St Francis of Assisi’s Day – read this in our next Deal CommunityAd Magazine. In a slightly different direction, they also spoke to Carly Rose, a hedge witch from Sandgate, who hosts a podcast about witchcraft, tarot, and folkloric history, expect this story in our upcoming Sandgate & Hythe CommunityAd Magazine.

Callum has been investigating the paranormal, speaking to the Mermaid Inn, Rye, about their chilling ghost stories. The hotel is over 600 years old, first opening in 1420, so it’s no surprise there’s a ghost or two wandering the halls and cellars. Who doesn’t love a scary story perfect for Halloween? Grab hold of this in our latest Rye & Winchelsea CommunityAd Magazine!

Dave this week checked in with Thanet’s finest Frank, Mr Leppard. Frank Leppard has been on the scene of any significant event in Thanet for years and in this freedom-loving year as always, he’s been there documenting the day with some stunning photography. Check out the beautiful spread in our latest Thanet CommunityAd Magazine!

To print this week, Thanet, Hartley Wintney, Frimley, Ramsgate and Ditchling so all these books are scheduled to drop through your door imminently…Exciting times! Huge well-done to our publishing team, editorial team, and graphic designers for getting books turned over to print so quickly this week.

We are now nearing the Christmas season…who’s already started planning for the festivities? We for one have been! Our company Christmas party has now been booked; the big reveal will surely be announced alongside the start of our annual Christmas competition. The sales team have been excitedly voting for their desired Christmas prizes which range from food, alcohol and hampers to experience days, tickets, weekends away and holidays. The competition will be a month-long competition from November with daily and weekly prizes!! We are all so excited to see who will pull it out the bag we can hardly contain ourselves!

My allocated time to write this week’s update is nearly up, our blog is going up earlier this week as we are about to migrate our website to a new and improved server so I need to stop hogging the website! Exciting times as we continue to develop, improve, and increase the services in which we can provide to each and every community…we absolutely love it! If you notice and issues this weekend on our website do bear with as our migration will be fully completed come Sunday!

For now, I’m going to tuck into more sausage rolls that have lovingly been made by Niki in preparation for my birthday weekend! Thank you so much Niki you’re lovely! And to you all, a wonderful weekend ahead!
