Alchemy Martial Arts – Cultivating Community Unity

Alchemy Martial Arts

Preparation is underway at Alchemy Martial Arts as they gear up to demonstrate their skills at the upcoming Allstars Brazilian Jiu Jitsu competition in London this weekend. However, beyond the pursuit of victories, Alchemy Martial Arts stands as a cornerstone for fostering community cohesion, recently expanding into new premises on the Northdown Industrial Estate in Broadstairs.

“At the heart of our philosophy lies complete inclusivity,” stressed Alan Mark, the esteemed black belt instructor and owner. “With a diverse range of instructors, including reigning world champion Valmyr Neto, and a varied mix of classes spanning Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Muay Thai, MMA, wrestling, Judo, Yoga, and fitness sessions, Alchemy ensures a welcoming environment for all, regardless of experience level, gender, age, or background.”

Alan, affectionately known as “Gunz”, who himself has two disabled children, leads the club with a commitment to inclusivity. “Our ethos revolves around adaptation and personalized experiences, ensuring that everyone feels embraced,” Alan passionately shared. “Sport holds transformative power, especially in nurturing mental well-being. Our mission is to spread positivity in a world often clouded by negativity. Through martial arts, we aim to uplift, inspire, and motivate individuals to become the best versions of themselves.”

The optimism surrounding the students participating in the London competition is well-founded. In previous years, individuals relatively new to the sport have returned with gold medals, a testament to the club’s dedication to excellence and growth.

Heidi, one of the club’s members, shared her journey: “My BJJ journey began with my son’s participation in the kids’ classes. Gunz then extended the invitation to me, and I’ve never looked back! I continue to return because I love it, and it challenges me both mentally and physically.”

Anna echoed similar sentiments: “I joined the club under a year ago, feeling terrified and uncertain. However, after my first class, I wished I had started sooner. Martial arts has significantly improved my mental health, boosted my confidence, and sharpened my cognitive abilities.”

As an integral part of the community, Alchemy Martial Arts takes pride in its sponsorships from Rhino Aluminium Windows and Doors, Apex Arrivals, and Skybel Communications. March 24th marks a significant date for those participating in the London competition. For Alan and the other Black Belts, it signifies another step in their journey towards serving the local community.
