A bit about Ashford
Ashford is a town in the county of Kent that lies on the River Great Stour at the south edge of the North Downs. In the 2011 census, Ashford had a population of 74,204. It has been a market town since the middle ages with their market regularly held to this day.

Ashford is perhaps well known for its award-winning designer outlet which opened in March 2000. St Mary’s Church has been a local landmark since the 13th century, and expanded in the 15th. Ashford has twelve Primary schools and two Grammar schools; the Norton Knatchbull School and Highworth Grammar School.
The main hospital in Ashford is William Harvey Hospital, named after the doctor who discovered the blood circulatory system.

The Ashford international station opened by British Rail with the Channel Tunnel in 1994 and offers Eurostat trains to Lille, Brussels and Paris.
Ashford United Football Club was formed in 1891, playing their home games at The Homelands in Kingsnorth. The club reformed in 2011 after financial difficulties and a short one season hiatus. The club were recently crowned Kent Senior Trophy champions in the 2016-17 season.
