The lowdown on Mother’s Day events and activities!

Mother's Day Events and Activities

Mother’s Day is right around the corner (27th March) and just in case of the very unlikely that you haven’t already organised something amazing for the woman in your life here are some fool-proof ideas to get you started. These  Mother’s Day events and activities are sure to impress!

A right royal Mother’s Day!

Make sure your mum receives the royal treatment with a trip to one of Kent’s most beautiful castles! Hever Castle is hosting events on both 26th & 27th March so is the perfect place for a more stylish Mother’s Day.

The childhood home of Anne Boleyn so the perfect location in which to treat your mum to a day fit for a queen (minus the beheading obviously).

Why not book a Classic Afternoon Tea in the stunning surroundings of the Guthrie Pavilion Restaurant after a crafting session in which your children will be able to create a wooden keyring keepsake that you will want to keep for life!

Did someone say cake?

You’ve got two options here, you could book a luxury dining experience as above or go in a different direction by supporting your local bakery and creating the perfect at-home afternoon tea!

Get creative (I highly recommend Pinterest if you’re struggling) and put together something bound to make your mum smile. If you feel like baking then that’s great too, don’t ask me for advice though. I’ve only just mastered the infamous lockdown banana bread!

Regardless of the direction you choose to take, I’m sure it’ll be an extra sweet Mother’s Day.

Running wild…

Wingham Wildlife Park is offering mums free entry on Mother’s Day when they are accompanied by a full paying child. What better way to celebrate than with a family day out surrounded by nature and wildlife? The park even boasts a Dinosaur Zoo exhibit if you fancy getting prehistoric! From big cats to brightly coloured birds, penguins to meerkats (I’m not quite sure how they find the time in between filming dodgy adverts but it’s an option all the same).

Bonus points for tiring the kids out enough so that you can have a glass of wine in peace that evening!

Lunch on the go!

If you’re looking for something inexpensive yet relaxing with a stunning view then you could always pack up a picnic and drive out to your favourite spot! Whether it be the beach, your local park or even somewhere further afield you really can’t go wrong with a lovingly prepared sandwich and flash of tea!

If things go horrifically wrong and the rain appears you could always get creative set up camp in your living room. It may not be exactly the same but the kids will love it!

If none of the above float your boat then that’s fine. There will be plenty of Mother’s Day events and activities going on in your local area. Just remember, it’s the thought that counts. Celebrating your mum should come from the heart.
