It has been a MONTH since I wrote the last blog!

Has it really? Apparently so…We have been so busy in the office for the past few weeks… I’ll be honest I hadn’t even noticed we’d stepped into March, let alone realise it has been a month without updating you all!

So, what’s been going on at the CommunityAd office you all ask?

Well, as I mentioned in our previous blog – we will be seeing a lot of changes this year and obviously with any change there’s always some hard-work and sacrifice involved. The sacrifice I’ve experienced is time, there is so much to do to prepare for what’s to come that my time has been sacrificed, BUT it will all be worth it and all the projects we’ve been working on is so exciting! Read on…

We’ve been so busy that to our relief we finally welcomed our second Kelly to grace our office at the beginning of this week – a lovely addition to our marketing team, joining to assist with our social media channels. A huge welcome to the CommunityAd family Kelly, we hope you’ve enjoyed your first week here!

With the recent additions to the CommunityAd family (we’ve had a few more troops join our sales team too!), we found ourselves with the opportunity to update and redesign our magazine covers – something we’ve been meaning to do for a while now.

*DRUM ROLL PLEASE* Presenting to all our readers the new look magazine! We hope you all love the small rebrand as much as we do! Here in the office we are absolutely obsessed with redesign of our front cover! Don’t you think it looks fresher, classier and more modern? Check it out on our latest Thanet CommunityAd Magazine!

Redesigned Thanet CommunityAd Magazine Issue 39

With the redesign it has enabled CommunityAd to open up the amazing opportunity for one local business to be the exclusive sponsor for each magazine! As a sponsor our customer will receive a multitude of benefits via an advertising package with us to include a splash advert on our front cover (the most premium print position), a feature on the top left of page 3, a full-page advert inside the magazine AND a banner featuring your logo and strapline on the page footer throughout the magazine! Only one spot is available per publication so if you’re interested do get in touch!

CommunityAd have also been so busy because we recently launched a monthly Offers Newsletter full of local offers which is sent out to our extensive subscriber list that has signed up to receive all the wonderful money saving discounts available in their community. Offers include up to 50% off at local hairdressers, 10% off food and drink, 2 for 1 meals, half price entry to kids soft play and so much more! We have started with the Thanet district for our first offers newsletter so if you want to receive the offers do subscribe here. Next on the list is to provide the Canterbury district with lots of local offers so do get in touch if you’re interested in offers for Canterbury, Whitstable, and Herne Bay! And if you’re interested in featuring on our newsletter then also get in touch because we have 5 exclusive spots on our newsletter for advertisers to feature on.

As always our editorial team is oh so busy! For our upcoming Thanet magazine (currently being distributed as we speak!), the ‘Why I love Margate’ series featured 2-time MOBO winner and Queen of UK Garage, Lisa Maffia. Lisa spoke to Matt about how her early beginnings on the music scene, the greatest moments in her career and the close connection she has with Margate.

For our Braintree magazine, Alice spoke to author Mark Holtom, who has written a memoir of his father’s extraordinary and amazing life. The book, titled “Going To Work On A Yak”, follows Mark’s father Giles and his time in the Royal Army Veterinary Corps, during which he visited 46 countries, was stalked by military intelligence, and was court martialled and promoted – twice.

CommunityAd has a copy of the book to give away, so look out for our Braintree magazine for the full interview with Mark and a chance to win a copy of the book in paperback.

Also, Alice, not sure where you find the time but thank you so much for the cookies today! Vegan AND gluten free! Will need to grab the recipe off you for my neighbours!

Lifelong Liverpool fan Callum took a long-awaited trip up to Anfield for the first time and got to witness a joyous 2-1 victory over Norwich City. The atmosphere, along with a few beverages and a hot dog of the finest quality, made the night one to remember. To any other fans out there who are yet to go, make sure you put it first on your to-do list and see it for yourself; come on you reds…hahaha just joking, I can’t say I appreciate reds as much as I do the Lilywhites….COYS!!

Dave (who is currently away watching the darts – I didn’t even know he was a darts fan!) enjoyed catching up with Comedian Lloyd Hollett, naturally he’s always a laugh to speak to but this time around he’s extra jubilant as his homecoming show ‘Thirty Years in Showbiz’ is finally going to have its day on the stage. The show which was intended for 2020 has been plagued with plague-based delays but at the end of March Lloyd will finally get a chance to do what he does best on Margate’s Theatre Royal Stage.

So that’s it, that’s pretty much why we’ve been so busy and all I’ve got time for this week. We always welcome and feedback and we love hearing from you so do get in touch and follow us on our social media to keep up to date. Until next time readers!
