Life at CommunityAd – Sweet, sweet celebrations all round!

It has been a week full of rainbows and sparkles for us here at CommunityAd. By rainbow and sparkles I mean the rainbow and sparkles flavoured cake we scoffed!

Can you believe it, two birthday celebrations in one week here in the office! Sweet, sweet celebrations all round! With the amount of cake, donuts and general sugar we have all been consuming, I imagine we are now Jamie Oliver’s arch-nemesis! A huge happy birthday again to our Sarah this week, we hope you had a fantastic unicorn filled day! And to James, YES, WE KNOW IT’S YOUR BIRTHDAY! You’ve been banging on about it ALL MONTH and it’s not even till this Sunday! A very happy 30^th birthday to you though, we know you’ll get spoilt rotten!

To whoever sent an early birthday present through the post…unsolicited panties…YES you read that right, we received what appeared to be knickers in the post…luckily it was a prank, please see below image of said pretend pants and if it was you, own up because we don’t know who sent them!

Kat is back in the office this week, tanned goddess that she now is after her well-earned break in Gibraltar! The whole sales team have almost hit their target which means the shots of Jäger are within sight, within reach, and more importantly within taste, sweet celebrations indeed! Welcome back Kat, we missed you.

Aimee, great to have you with us this week as always. Your company is even more enjoyable when we don’t have to be your human alarm clock and remind you that working hours are 9am – 5pm, Monday to Thursday, and on Friday if you’re good you can finish at 3pm! Your contribution to the admin team is valued and a working day isn’t quite the same without you so keep up the good work!

We had an extremely exciting time this week in editorial. Our editor Matt was involved in interviewing a whole host of interesting candidates for our editorial assistant opening, it’s going to be tough with interviews going into next week. We wish we had more job openings with the brilliant applicants we’ve had.

When it came to members of our editorial team, there was no praise too high. When we receive such lovely words of thanks from the community groups that we write about it makes the job of writing the stories SO much sweeter. CommunityAd love helping spread the word about all that is positive in each local area. Sally received the following message from the fantastic Hare Krishna in Canterbury after we covered their fantastic Sunday Meals project, and Callum had lovely feedback from the Rye Quiz Trail for his recent article on the fantastic trail and town souvenir in Rye full of local facts and stories.

We also heard from the Braintree Recreation CIO – a charity which provides recreational facilities for the people of Braintree and Bocking and recently did a survey for the community to find out what people want etc. They are currently fundraising for a well-needed defibrillator for the recreation ground which we will cover in our upcoming Braintree CommunityAd Magazine!

So much sweetness this week whether it be related to birthday celebrations or story writing. The icing on the top of this week would be our publishing and graphic design team getting Faversham, Whitstable, and Deal to print. Keep your eyes peeled for these issues coming through your door shortly!
