Life at CommunityAd – A Dream Team

Life at CommunityAd - Dream Team

Apart from the obvious…when it comes to office environments and working, we at CommunityAd are a Dream Team, everyone has in fact been slightly distracted by a slightly different Dream Team this week. Preparations for this coming football season has reminded our James from sales to set up this year’s office league, many entering the Dream Team for a chance to win £220! £150 for 1st place, £50 for 2nd, and £20 for 3rd! A few of my personal favourite team names this year has got to be ‘50 shades of Demarai Gray’ courtesy of Matt, ‘Athletico Mcclean’ courtesy of James, and ‘Chicken Tikka Mo Salah’ courtesy of Glynne. Everyone’s hopeful but my bet is on team ‘Sausage Fest’…Georgia wins every year without fail so if anyone manages to beat Georgia this year, I will personally buy you a drink!

In other news, we have had far too many sausage rolls lately… Niki is glad as she won’t be making a huge batch of sausage rolls again any time soon as majority of the girls are now on shake diets. Whilst I’m personally on a see-food diet, some of the girls (I won’t mention any names!) have spent £150 on these diet shakes! Blending all sorts of concoctions into the shakes at lunchtime from skimmed milk to bananas and berries!

Onto our work for the week… Sandwich and Hartley Wintney have now gone to print with the publishing team and graphic designers focussing on Faversham, Hamsey and Old Basing, so expect these publications through your doors soon. We are currently taking final bookings in our Ramsgate, Herne Bay, Rye, Dover, Greenhithe, and Romney publications so if you’re looking to get anything shared in any of these areas then get in touch ASAP Rocky!

Editorial wise this week, Matt spoke to EKCA (East Kent Climate Action) who were happy to promote their brilliant Poly the plastic whale that was recently featured at Deal Carnival. Poly was pulled and steered along the parade route by some 20 campaigners, including the youngest, who had brought her own placard saying “Plastic is NOT fantastic”. The life- sized whale is made of waste plastic, equivalent to the amount of plastic which finds its way into the ocean every third of a second.

For our upcoming Whitstable magazine, Matthew spoke with actor Sophia Del Pizzo who played the role of DS Nikki Martel in the recently released and locally filmed TV drama Whitstable Pearl. Sophia talked to us about her early beginnings in acting, biggest influences in film and TV, her most memorable moments on screen so far as well as what she enjoyed most about playing the role of DS Martel.

Callum spoke with Dartford Valley RFC who were welcomed to Twickenham Stadium recently by England Head coach Eddie Jones and former Harlequins and England player Ugo Monye.

Alice spoke to the headteacher of Ripple Vale, Jane Norris who mentioned their furry friend (photo attached) Ralph who offers emotional support to the boys of the school (photos attached).  Alice’s first article since she has joined us features in our upcoming Sandwich which went to print this week so be sure to check out her work in this coming issue!

We have also been busy redesigning our banners for our media partners which includes our banner which will be displayed at the grounds of Margate FC and a banner which will be displayed at next weeks ‘Sounds of Summer’ event in Faversham! Keep your eyes peeled and see if you can spot them! Worth mentioning, it took me ages to find a postal tube so I could get the banner posted to Faversham in time so you can all appreciate its beauty! Luckily Sarah saved the day with one she had sat at home! I never knew the cost of a single postal tube! I need to get out more…

A final note from me to you Shaun, I hope you found some socks as I was quite shocked to see you walking barefooted round the office this week! Though I guess it’s not a bad thing, toes out means you feel at home right?

All in all, a fantastic and extremely productive week, looking forward to the weekend and what next week has in store for us! Now, here’s to wishing you all a fantastic weekend!
