Wrabness tea party ensures English Tourism Week celebrations are on track

Residents are being encouraged to hop on a train and visit Wrabness in late March for a guided walk followed by a tea party to celebrate English Tourism Week.

Essex and South Suffolk Community Rail Partnership has organised the day out on Sunday, 25 March 2018, the end of English Tourism Week.
Entry is free when you show a valid train ticket to Wrabness railway station, where the guided walk will begin at 2pm.
The walk will last an hour and will pass by Grayson Perry’s eye-catching ‘A House for Essex’, also known as the ‘gingerbread house’.
The walk will be followed by a tea party at the Wrabness Community Café where, on production of your valid train ticket, you can claim a free tea or coffee and homemade cakes.

Jayne Sumner, Rail Engagement Manager at Essex County Council, said: “We want to celebrate English Tourism Week and show everyone what this beautiful part of Essex has to offer.
“Your train ticket will include a free tea party and a guided walk, which includes a chance to see the striking surroundings of Grayson Perry’s gingerbread house.
“What better way to spend a relaxing Sunday and there’s no need to pre-book – just pop along on the train on the day.”

Paul Haynes, Greater Anglia’s Community Partnerships Manager, said: “This is a great opportunity for people to stay healthy, get some fresh air and discover the area while leaving the car at home. We are very grateful to the Essex and South Suffolk Community Rail Partnership and Wrabness Community Cafe for organising this fantastic event.”
