Faversham Hat Festival 2018

2018 brings the return of the Faversham Hat Festival!

This year the Faversham Hat Festival will take place on the 31st March, with the parade starting from The Hat Shop, West Street, Faversham. Then the actual festival will be held in The Alexander Centre on Preston Street, Faversham.

A celebration of hats through the arts.

The essence of the festival is to encourage community involvement and promote tourism in Faversham in a fun and interesting way centred around the theme of hats.

Leading up to the festival there will be workshops in simple millinery for the public to participate.

A hat making workshop will be running on Good Friday (30th) in preparation for the parade on the Saturday.

There will be stalls and activities/workshops going on all day in the Alexander centre as well as other events around the town for people to get involved in. as well as other things there will be prize giving, entertainment and stalls of handmade, craft, gift and vintage items.

The parade will take you from the Hat Shop, through the town showcasing your wonderful hat, up Preston Street and into the Alexander Centre where your hat will be judged in categories.

The categories are:

Best Ladies Hat – White Lion
Best Men’s Hat – The White Lion
Best Girls Hat – Country Brides of Faversham
Best Boys Hat- edibleculture
Best Hatted Dog- Ollie Bongo’s Pet Essentials
Best Shop Window- Optima Opticians
Best innovative Fantastical Hat – Hamiltons Int
Best Trader’s Hat- Lotty’s Flowers
