There are moments when we think about how easy it can be to have certain shortcuts, especially on our smartphones. This is usually the case if you’ve switched to a new phone and the software is all new to you. Even if you’ve been using iPhones all your life, it’s still a good idea to learn about all its different features. So, here are the top five iPhone hacks to help you swiftly navigate through your phone!

1. Use Airplane Mode to charge your phone faster

Do you need to quickly charge your phone but you’re in too much of a rush to wait for it? If this is the case, turning Airplane Mode on will help your phone to charge faster. This is because Airplane Mode turns off a lot of your phone’s features, which includes Wi-Fi and data, meaning your battery will be doing less work.

All you have to do is access your iPhone’s control centre and tap the airplane icon. However, make sure to turn Airplane Mode off once your phone is fully charged just in case your friends and loved ones start to worry!

2. Screenshot an entire page

Screenshotting an entire web page is possible on an iPhone too! When taking a screenshot, a thumbnail will usually appear at the bottom of the screen. Make sure you tap it to bring it to full screen. If your screenshot was taken on the Safari browser, a ‘Full Page’ tab option is usually available at the top of the screen. By tapping this tab, a slider will appear on the right hand side to help you view the full page.

3. Signing digital documents

Yes, you read that right. You can sign digital documents just by using your iPhone, which is especially handy if you look through key documents every day for work. To sign digital documents, start off by taking a screenshot of it and tapping the thumbnail. There should be a plus sign appearing on the lower right. Once tapped, choose the ‘Signature’ option and you should then be able to sign it on the screen or you can use a pre-saved one.

After signing it, press ‘Done’ and drag it onto the appropriate section of the document. Press save and then you’re done!

4. Shifting your keyboard

Did you know that the placement of your keyboard can be changed? This is especially useful if you’re carrying something with your other hand and trying to type one-handed. This can be done by holding down on the globe (which is only displayed if you have more than one keyboard) or the emoji icon.

You’ll be given an option to choose between a right or left keyboard. Choose the one you prefer, but don’t worry if you want to change it back. You can revert your keyboard to its original placement by tapping the arrow pointing in the opposite direction. However, it’s important to note that this only works in portrait mode.

5. Silencing unknown callers

If you get a lot of unknown calls, this iPhone hack might come in handy. All you have to do is open Settings, tap Phone and then tap Silence Unknown Callers. Once this is turned on, numbers that are not in your contacts will be silenced, sent to your voicemail and will appear in your recent calls. However, you’ll still get calls from phone numbers saved in your contacts, recent calls and from Siri Suggestions, which allows you to know who’s calling based on the phone number in your messages and emails.
