The spooky night of Halloween is coming and people are excited for pumpkins, dressing up and sweets! For the aspiring makeup artists, this is a time to show off their skills and to come up with frightening creations. If you want to make it as a makeup artist but you’re struggling on what to paint, here are some Halloween face painting ideas you can consider.

Corpse Bride

Tim Burton’s Corpse Bride is perfect for fans of this undead classic. It may seem difficult to paint but it’s generally easy, especially if you’re a beginner. To achieve this look, start off with a light blue base and contour with a darker blue. Draw some dark circles around your eyes and fill it in with white face paint, but make sure you don’t forget about your eye lids. Try to mimic Emily’s large eyes and draw the eyebrows high up on your forehead and you can then look for your groom!

The Devil

To let all Hell break loose, transform yourself into the devil. Apply a bright red base on your face, neck and chest and draw on some dramatic eyebrows. For a more creepy effect, pop in some black sclera contact lenses in your eyes, as well as black devil horns on your head and you should be good to go! Don’t forget to pop on some black lipstick too.

Skull

We all can’t forget about the classic skull. It won’t be Halloween if we don’t see at least one skull-faced person this year. Painting a skull on your face is relatively easy too! All you have to do is use a white paint and black paint for the details. Using black paint, create the hollow gaps and you should be ready. Wear a cape with a hood to give the illusion of the grim reaper.

A zombie

If you like the undead, a zombie face paint is an ideal choice. Bring life back to the dead by following Snazaroo’s pop art zombie face paint tutorial and pay tribute to all the famous zombie films we love. Although this may take a bit of time, detail is key in order to be successful with this look. Once done, make sure you act sluggishly like a zombie, which will surely have people running.

Coraline

Painting your face as Coraline is another great Halloween face paint idea. Disturbing and creepy, all you have to do is use gel blood to create a ghoulish effect and then draw a gigantic button over it. Wear a short blue wig and a yellow coat and you’re good to go!
