Halloween is fast approaching, which means it’s time to think about the costumes you want to wear. It can be difficult to wrack your brain for original Halloween costumes, and it’s always a bit awkward if you’re twinning with someone else. If you want to avoid replicating that infamous Spider Man meme, our following list of creative Halloween costumes might inspire you.

Little Red Riding Hood & the Wolf or Beauty and the Beast

Do you want your dog to play a part this Halloween? If so, bring the famous fairy tale back to life by dressing up as Little Red Riding Hood and having your dog as grandma! Dress your dog up in a nightie, night cap and pop some glasses on their snout and you should have a scary wolf. This costume idea will surely have people’s eyes as big as grandma’s!

As an alternative, consider a Beauty and the Beast rendition by dressing up as Belle and having your canine friend as Beast. This will certainly be a tale as old as time!

Peter Pan and his shadow

For the Disney fanatics out there, specifically fans of the Lost Boys, dressing up as Peter Pan and his shadow is a fun idea. Work together with a friend, ideally someone who’s taller than you, and transform yourself into Peter Pan while your friend transforms into his shadow. This is a great costume idea if you want to add in some synchronised steps!

The soldiers from Toy Story

Perfect for a big family or a group of friends, showcase some camaraderie and teamwork by dressing up as the soldiers from Toy Story. All you have to do is grab some camo clothing, an oval piece of cardboard, some fake weapons and dye them all green! Do some poses similar to the ones the soldiers do in the film and you should have human-sized replicas! But make sure you hop when you move!

A weeping angel statue

We’ve all heard the saying: go big or go home. If you’re artsy and want to go big this Halloween, a weeping angel statue is the costume for you! Buy yourself some grey angelic-looking drapes and 3D angel wings on Amazon, and you have your costume sorted! If you have a dress that you think is suitable but is not in the right colour, you can simply dye it grey. Once you’re in your costume, cup your face in your hands and weep!

A wooden doll

For the aspiring makeup artists, painters and fans of Pinocchio, this wooden doll idea is a great option. All you have to do is use your face painting skills and grab either brown face paint or brown eyebrow pomade. Brown face paint is probably ideal if you don’t want it rubbing off. Draw lines mimicking wood patterns on your face and any parts of your body that is showing, and you should transform into a living wooden doll! But make sure you replicate rigid movements and poses for photos!
