Tennis Club adds more Floodlights for longer play

Tunbridge Wells Lawn Tennis Club has added floodlights to two further clay courts which means the club now offers longer play on their 12 all-weather courts. As well as the new floodlights, the existing floodlights have been converted to LEDs meaning brighter lights operating at a greater efficiency. This means members can now book more courts to play through until 9.30pm.

Club Manager, Laura Byers, commented, “During the summer months our members enjoy playing on our beautiful lawn courts but during the darker months, there is great demand for floodlit courts for play and coaching. We are delighted that with the help of a loan from the LTA, we have boosted the number of floodlit courts so that members can play after work and school. We believe that we offer the best playing facilities in the area for our many members who want to carry on playing on the darker evenings.”

The club facilities were also recently enhanced by the installation of two new “Rebo” hitting walls, allowing players to practice with or without an opponent and get a more realistic “bounce back.’ The hitting walls are already a popular addition to the club.

The club, in the Nevill Ground off Warwick Park, offers tennis for everyone, regardless of standard, on either a social or competitive level including internal and external tennis leagues, LTA graded tournaments and fun, one-day tournaments with a social element thrown in afterwards.

In addition, throughout the week, members have social mix-ins (daytime and evening), team practice in the evenings and everyone is able to book courts online at no extra charge.

There is a comprehensive coaching programme on offer for adults and juniors, from beginners to experienced players.  Group and individual options are available.

The holiday camps for children from 4-16 are extremely popular, providing a fun learning environment with qualified coaches at affordable rates.
