Go Wilder for Maidstone Grants
Go Green Go Wild, the initiative created by Maidstone Borough Council to support communities to engage with nature and wildlife, is giving away more grants.
Any constituted group, organisation or school with a bank account and an existing affiliation to a park, open space or community garden across the borough of Maidstone can now apply for a grant of up to £2,000 to help a nature project and must apply by 29 February.
Nicola Toulson, Maidstone Borough Council Community Partnership Officer and coordinator of Go Green Go Wild said:
“Last year we awarded grants of up to £250 with eleven organisations successfully bidding for this. Some of these projects were for wildlife projects, tree planting, biodiversity improvements, clean-up projects, materials, equipment and tools and seeds, bulbs and plants.“These larger pots of money are the next stage in our project, encouraging groups to come up with bigger schemes. The aim is to help communities with projects that will improve opportunities for nature and wildlife, as well as benefit the community.”
The council scheme ‘Go Green Go Wild’ is an exciting project created by the Maidstone Borough Council Parks and Open Spaces team to encourage people to look after the nature on their doorstep.
