Stay at home guidance: waste collections

collections

We’re prioritising the delivery of key Council services.  Maintaining your household waste and recycling collections is one of our top priorities.

Our household collections teams are out and about as usual.  We know that many of you are now working to different daily routines, so please don’t forget to put your waste and recycling out as usual.

How you can help

You can help us maintain the integrity of our waste service, and help keep our collection crews safe and well by following the Government’s Stay at Home guidelines on waste.

Disposing personal waste

Personal waste (such as used tissues) and disposable cleaning cloths can be stored securely within disposable rubbish bags. These bags should be placed into another bag, tied securely and kept separate from other waste. This should be put aside for at least 72 hours before being put in your usual external household waste bin (not recycling).

Other household waste can be disposed of as normal.
