Coronavirus/Covid-19

Havant Borough Council is working hard to keep services available during the coronavirus pandemic, particularly those that support vulnerable people.

Visit our dedicated webpage to find the latest information on all council services and any disruption that may occur. As information becomes available, it will be added to this webpage.

Details about the virus and its symptoms are available on the NHS website which is continually updated.

Easter bin collections

Currently, there are no changes to your rubbish and recycling bin collections – this includes the Easter Bank holiday.

To check when your bin is due to be collected click here, entering your postcode.

Please make sure you are recycling correctly.  Putting the wrong item in your recycling bin is as bad as not recycling at all, so please make sure you’re getting it right.

So when it comes to Easter egg packaging, the cardboard box can be flattened and recycled.

The plastic and tin foil should not be put in your recycling bin.

More information on what you can recycle can be found here.

Get your information from trusted sources

Unfortunately there some individuals who are using the current situation to try and scam people through fake emails (also known as phishing).

The BBC’s website lists the top examples of these fake emails, which often look like they’ve come from reliable sources. The article also explains what to look out for and what action to take.

Report fraud and cyber crime to ActionFraud.

Help for rough sleepers

Havant Borough Council has been successful in securing funding to end rough sleeping.

More than £92k has been awarded across Havant borough and East Hampshire District from the government’s Rough Sleeping Initiative.

More information about this funding can be found here.

If you, or anyone you know is homeless or sleeping rough, information and help is available here.
