Scrumptious Cider at The Brogdale Cider Festival

Half term fun at Brogdale

Brogdale Cider Festival returns 24th & 25th August 2019

A great day out, just over an hour from London to the heart of the Kent country side.

Brogdale Cider Festival will be rolling up the barn doors to local producers of Artisan and specialist cider and Perry, with over 10 different cider companies serving up their delicious and refreshing beverages in a range of exciting flavours.

Entertainment will include 3 stages of live music, activities for little festival goers, eating competitions, pig racing, festival games and cider pressing demonstrations.  A free shuttle bus will be running from Faversham mainline train station to Brogdale throughout the weekend, allowing visitors easy access from public transport routes.

Taste the finest ciders from small producers based in and around Kent including Kentish Pip, Turners, Kent Cider Company, Biddenden’s and Duddas Tun; along with Tiddly Pomme who are resident artisan cider producers, offering cider produced from our very own apples from The National Fruit Collection in their Woolley Pig Range. The Cider Barn will offer over 50 ciders to enjoy during the weekend, with cider sampling and tasting available all day. Ciders will range traditional flavours such as Cox and Bramley, to more unique – elderflower, lemon and raspberry and salted caramel are among the unusual!

Visitors can follow the Cider trail to discover their favourite taste – with each cider being scored, the most popular will receive the accolade of ‘Cider Perry of the Festival’. The winning cider from 2018 was Kent Cider Company’s Yowler – but who can measure up this year?

Popular local bands on 3 outdoor stages will perform throughout the weekend with headline acts including Rudy Warman and the Heavy Weather, Big Orange Head and Hullabaloo. The Old Country Crows and Jumbo Gumbo will have visitors swinging their pants on the Festival Field.

Entertainment for all ages will include archery, pig racing, wellie wanging and trifle eating. Talks and demonstrations available throughout the weekend will enthuse and inspire, covering a range of different subjects to satisfy the whole crowd.

Local stalls of hot food to soak up the cider will include hog roast, burgers and crepes, whilst The Larder will be providing a dedicated vegetarian stall. Other producers will offer freshly ground coffee, milkshakes and for non-cider drinkers, prosecco or Pimms. Local craft stalls will offer a range of Kentish produce.

Little Festival Goers can make a souvenir to take home in the craft tent, have a fairy face paint or burn off some energy on the bouncy assault course.

Brogdale has unlimited free parking, a picnic area, disabled toilets and a market place of local shops, garden center and micro-brewery.

Tickets can be purchased on the day or online at a discount.
