Palms Pizzeria- Pizza by the slice, Beer by the can and Liquor by the shot!

Margate’s latest pizzeria opens Easter weekend

As a man with a passion for pizza, I was delighted to walk through The Centre in Margate recently (admittedly on my jolly way to buy a Cruffin from Modern Provider) and spot the early signs of a new pizzeria (Palms Pizzeria) in the works.

With its eye-catching signage, created by the brilliant (and local) Hermetic Sign Company, Palms Pizzeria opens Friday April 15^{th (NEXT FRIDAY!)}.

Owners Joshua Ward and Stuart Clarke have a brilliant vision of exactly what and where they want to go with their pizzeria and I was able to grab a few words from Josh who informed me just what locals can expect, he told me:

“The people of Thanet can expect giant NY style pizza by the slice. Local beers and a full shot menu! It’s going to be a great neighbourhood spot we hope…”

Having enjoyed the delights of many local pizzerias in Casa and GB Pizza, I had to ask Josh, with such a competitive market, why Margate?

“We chose Margate as myself and Stuart both live in Margate, love pizza and thought this was the perfect location for it.

“As you say there are several great pizza places in Margate – Hot Wood, Casa and Ralphs but all serve up Neopolitan style, where as ours is NY style and served by the slice. So you can grab a lunch/late night quick bite for as cheap as £3.”

Pizza by the slice, served NY style as well as local beers and a plethora of shots has got me all aboard the Palms Pizzeria express but in such an uncertain economic climate, I had to ask what the long term vision is for Josh and Stuart?

“The long term goals are to make this place as successful as possible and become a destination people who live & people who are visiting Margate want to come back to time and time again.”

Having seen the mouth-watering slices uploaded on their Instagram page, I have already given my partner 7 days’ notice for our dinner plans as I truly can’t wait to devour a Palms Pizzeria slice.
