Life at CommunityAd – Sponsorships!

Life at CommunityAd - Sponsorships

Another busy month has been and gone and now we find ourselves in April and very much looking forward to the upcoming Easter break!

I mentioned in my previous blog that we’ve recently started offering our customers sponsorships and this month has been heavily involved in helping our customers create the perfect sponsorships to feature on our latest magazines! We are absolutely thrilled to hear that our advertisers are loving it, we’re loving it too, they’re all looking so good all proud on our front covers!

You can see below my top two favourite sponsorships this past month, don’t they look great?

We believe the creation of this amazing opportunity for our customers to feature on the front cover will help get a local business seen an appreciated even more so than before! We have many more local companies sponsoring each issue of our magazine coming up soon so huge thanks and shout-out to them all for celebrating and being such a valued part of the community! If you’re interested in sponsorships then do get in touch quick because available spots are filling fast!

Following on from the launch and success of our sponsorships we recently held a very productive business development and marketing meeting at a local business in Margate. We enjoyed the most fantastic team lunch in the form of sandwiches, croissants, tea’s and coffees at the Modern Provider, it was nothing like what I imagined -a stressful and high-pressured chat as displayed on The Apprentice café scenes! Having a team meeting outside the office was a first for us but definitely not the last! We all came away from the meeting energised and buzzing with creativity in all the new ideas we all discussed. Stay tuned because lots more is going to be happening this year – we’ve only just started!

Something else relatively new to the CommunityAd brand, the latest money-saving mail-out is now out in Thanet for April featuring some fantastic offers from local businesses including Kids Bright House soft play, Secret Spices, Julia’s Bistro, Milk & Cookie, and Little Essex Aesthetics to just name a few! A huge thanks to businesses Bayliss Executive Travel, Papa Johns Margate, Tradeglaze windows, and Alan Hopkins tree surgery for supporting this issue of the mail-out, your sponsorships make it possible for us to provide all our subscribers with such a fantastic monthly mail-out- encouraging everyone to spend local, support local business and benefit from local discounts. Not signed up to receive the Thanet money-saving mail-out yet? Sign up here and you’ll get the offers straight to your inbox every month!

The Thanet mail-out is running smoothly and will go out monthly which now means… the money-saving mail-out is now incoming for the Canterbury area! We already have some brilliant offers from some truely amazing local businesses lined up to be mailed out beginning of May so make sure you don’t miss that by signing up!

In other developments…LinkedIn? Who uses LinkedIn? Here at CommunityAd we first created our presence a few years ago but never actively used it- with that in mind we are now going to be updating and utilising the platform a lot more. Check out our company page and give us a follow! We will be posting our top tips in marketing and advertising as well as keeping all our contacts up-to-date with the latest magazines printed and the upcoming schedule so you can get involved! If you have any tips let us know – as a local business we love to learn how everyone else is doing and what platforms you’re using the most!

By way of sponsorships we have recently been getting everything prepared for an upcoming event at Kent Event Centre in Detling where we will be exhibiting at Business Vision Live. We are very excited to be meeting lots of people and seeing how we can help everyone connect within their community! If you’re free 11th May, pop the date in the diary and head along, we can have a chat and you can win a magnum of champagne! Side note – in celebration of all things beneficial to CommunityAd and reflecting upon everything I’ve mentioned in this blog so far, we recently had the pleasure of welcoming yet another newcomer to our sales team. Donna has joined CommunityAd with ambitions for new business development and will also be coming along to the show with myself, our editor Matt and our sales manager Kat so it’s going to be a great day not to be missed!

I mentioned the Easter break round the corner didn’t I? Stocked up on chocolate eggs and not sure what else to do from there? Feel free to read up on a couple of the latest Easter posts our lovely Kelly has written including Easter activities and events for the whole family and Easy Easter crafts for all ages – they’re really quite helpful! Kelly has also got a wonderful giveaway lined up and going live tomorrow across our website and social media where YOU or one of our followers will win £100 giftcard to spend at Unicorn Cosmetics in celebration of National Unicorn day! How cool is that! I know I’ll be entering the giveaway for sure!

As always in the editorial bubble – Matt enjoyed swinging for the skies in Ditchling as he delved into the sport of Stoolball. Originating in Sussex and dating back to the 15th century, Matt caught up with the Chairman of Stoolball Ditchling, Michael Stratford, where they talked all things Stoolball. Of course you can read all about this in our upcoming Ditchling CommunityAd Magazine!

A recent highlight for Dave, editorially speaking, has been chatting with Phoenix FM Disc Jockey Stewart Pink. Stewart has risen like the proverbial phoenix through the ranks at PhoenixFM from guest to drive-time host and he absolutely loves it! Dreaming of being a DJ since he was a child the talented broadcaster is now living that dream. When not on air Stewart is penning poems which like his drive-time show never fail to raise a smile. Read the full interview in the latest Billericay & Brentwood CommunityAd Magazine.

In our most recent Uckfield magazine our ‘eyes on the ground’ reporter Callum interviewed a 13-year-old entrepreneur who has launched his very own woodworking businesses and has been taking on commissions from local residents. Oliver Eagle is our local businessman who has been creating elegant bird tables, wall hangings, and bug hotels for the local community, as well as the odd specific request, and launched Oliver’s Bird Tables on Facebook to great success. You can find out how he came by his passion for woodwork on page 13 our latest Uckfield magazine.

For our Bramley magazine, and in anticipation of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee granting the nation a four-day weekend, Alice has been researching another holiday in celebration of the monarchy. Oak Apple Day, or Shick-Shack Day, was a holiday established in 1660 to commemorate the restoration of the monarchy after the English Civil War. The holiday also has an surprising link to a British institution just as important as the monarchy – the English public house.

Anyways, enough about sponsorships and upcoming holidays for now, I’m off to enjoy my weekend. As always, need any help with marketing and advertising, you know where we are!
