Paige going for 1st at European Skating Championships

European Skating Championships

An artistic roller skater from Faversham is rolling out to compete for Great Britain at The European Skating Championships, August 31st-September 8th, 2018.

Paige Long (20), who has recently achieved a first-class honours degree in Geography from the University of Greenwich, has managed to juggle studies with training in order to qualify for the competition, which is being held in the Azores.

Paige, who is looking to replicate her academic success with another 1st, will skate for Great Britain in the Senior Ladies Solo Dance category at the competition, which is the highest-level artistic roller skating event in Europe.

Paige said “It’s been hard work to juggle my studies with training and coaching but it’s been worth it. After finishing my degree I could really concentrate on my skating and I can’t wait to skate for Team GB.”

Paige skates and coaches with Invicta Artistic Roller Skating Club, which skates in Faversham and Westgate-on-Sea. For anyone looking to learn, the club is open to all ages and abilities, so anyone can come along and have a go. For more information visit www.invictarsc.co.uk
