Cllr Hunter Stummer-Schmertzing, Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Enterprise Services said:

On behalf of Thanet District Council, I would like congratulate Open School East on achieving this funding award. It is fantastic to see them cementing roots and investing in Thanet and it promises to deliver some amazing opportunities for developing artists.

A key council priority is promoting inward investment and job creation, as well as developing the skills agenda for the benefit of the whole community. This funding will further enhance the area’s economy and help support the growing number of creative businesses choosing to make Thanet their home.

It is also great to see Arts Council funding go to the Turner Galley which has helped Thanet’s economy immensely since opening.
