Another tenant has moved into the Folkestone & Hythe District Council offices, bringing in valuable income to support vital services.

Dover Counselling Centre join Sleeping Giant Media, financial advisers Forward Plan, information provider EBSCO, and East Kent Housing at the Civic Centre in Folkestone. The new addition means all the office space is now let.

Andy Blaszkowicz, Assistant Director for Environment and Corporate Assets, said it was good news for residents.

He said: “Councils are having to be ever-more commercial in their thinking and generate different income streams that can be used protect the services residents rely on.

“We were able to identify an opportunity with spare space at the Civic Centre, thanks to more efficient ways of working and our flexible working policies that mean staff can work from home or off-site.

“We were delighted to welcome Dover Counselling Centre to the building and look forward to developing a close working relationship as we have with our other tenants.”

The Council still occupies four floors of the building in Castle Hill Avenue, where staff dealing with services such as council tax, housing, and planning are based.
