Building On Success – Community Led Housing Conference On 18 June

Dover District Local Plan

With community led housing playing a key role in delivering a range of housing solutions for the future, east Kent local authorities are working together to hold a Community Led Housing and Self-build Conference at The Ark in Dover on 18 June.

Dover, Folkestone and Hythe, and Thanet District Councils, and Canterbury City Council are joining forces to deliver the free conference for residents across east Kent. The event, from 9.30am to 5pm at the Ark on Noah’s Ark Road in Dover, will help community groups and individuals to progress their ideas for community led housing or take their first steps to build their own home.

The event follows the success of last year’s conference, when Dover District Council held east Kent’s first conference dedicated to community led housing and self-build.

The 2019 conference will bring together community groups, land owners, developers, consultants, and community led housing and self-build experts. Visitors will be able to take part in a programme of workshops, ‘ask the expert’ style Q&A sessions and networking opportunities, with a variety of exhibitors and information available on the day, for a wide range of practical information and advice.

All who are interested in community led housing or self-build in east Kent are very welcome to attend. The event is free to attend, but places need to be booked in advance.
