LEAP: new business start-up workshops in the Lewes District

Starting up your own business can be daunting but LEAP, Local Enterprise & Apprenticeship Platform, run by Lewes District Council, is here for you. And it’s free.

Lewes District Council has invested more into its Local Enterprise & Apprenticeship Platform (LEAP) programme. Delivered by Edeal on behalf of the council, the programme now runs a series of start-up business workshops with the next one planned for Monday June 11 in Newhaven. Others will be held on August 2 (Lewes), October 9 (Seaford) and December 6 (Newheaven).

Workshops are a full day and focus on specific business start-up topics to give entrepreneurs the essential skills they need to set-up and grow a successful enterprise.

Other new LEAP services include one to one advice with an expert on all matters relating to starting and running a business and social media training.

Start-up businesses can still enter the LEAP Entrepreneur Programme with the chance to win £2,500 to help set up a business. Applications for 2019 open in October.

There is also a chance to take part in Business networking. Often it’s not what you know, it’s who you know, and people like to do business with people they know and trust. Networking allows you to stand out and make an impact. We are hosting regularly networking events to help you meet new contacts, clients and business leads.

What is LEAP?

The Local Enterprise & Apprenticeship Platform (LEAP) is a free business support service in the Lewes District set-up by Lewes District Council. It helps residents and businesses to develop and grow their ideas and enterprises. If you are running or growing a business and need advice contact LEAP.
