Moving Forward for Kent campaign launched

An exciting new campaign has been launched to help get the Kent economy back on its feet again and support businesses and residents in Kent.

Moving Forward for Kent, which is being rolled out by Kent County Council and supported by organisations including Visit Kent, Produced in Kent and Kent Invicta Chamber of Commerce, is a simple but flexible marketing tool to help build confidence in Kent’s economic recovery.

The aim is to showcase how businesses are “Moving Forward for Kent” as the county recovers from the economic impacts of an unprecedented pandemic and encourage people to safely return to the economic success that made Kent one of the most dynamic local economies in the country.

The campaign toolkit, which is totally free, is available online and can be easily downloaded, adapted and edited for use by any business in the county, large or small.

Launching the Moving Forward for Kent campaign, KCC Leader Roger Gough said: “Kent residents, services, and the environment have experienced rapid and fundamental change as a result of Covid-19.

“The huge changes to how people live, work and travel have had a significant impact on our every-day lives and we now need to adapt to the changes brought by this huge social and economic shock.

“The road to renewing the county’s economy will not be easy. As part of that road to renewal we are providing businesses with the tools to get involved and participate in the Moving Forward for Kent campaign.

“This will help us to work together to restore confidence, move forward and enjoy the benefits of a thriving local economy again.”

The Moving Forward for Kent campaign is designed to be flexible so it can be used and shared by any business, large or small, in marketing communications activities and materials.

An easily accessible toolkit will provide all the information and marketing assets needed to be part of this county-wide support of a single message that we can, and will, recover from this pandemic as a county.

KCC Cabinet Member for Communications, Shellina Prendergast, said “I am enormously excited by the positivity and energy of the Moving Forward for Kent campaign.

“Now, more than ever, is the time to come together to unite the county with one consistent voice, as it recovers from the economic impacts of this pandemic. By working together, we will amplify the reach, awareness and impact of the campaign.

“We continue to do everything we can to get our economy back on its feet while at the same time protecting the public and putting the safety of the people of Kent first.”
