Lusting for Lewes?

According to a study by WeThrift, Lewes is one of the most romantic staycation destinations in the UK, and who’s surprised?

Our humble town of Lewes placed fourth in the list of most romantic staycation destinations, scoring well for its plethora of activities and things to do, as well as its eight florists and ten jewellery shops within a five mile distance, and being a short drive to the nearest beach, so it seems many of us are lusting for Lewes!

Lewes was close to taking the top spot, but ultimately ranked behind Windsor in Berkshire, Truro in Cornwall and Henley-on-Thames in Oxfordshire.

2. Truro, Cornwall
3. Henley-on-Thames, Oxfordshire
4. Lewes, East Sussex
5. Keswick, Cumbria
6. Salisbury, Wiltshire
7. Ambleside, Cumbria
8. Woodbridge, Suffolk
9. Windermere, Cumbria
10. Arundel, West Sussex

Each destination was ranked according to an eight-point criteria which included the number of ‘romantic’ restaurants and walking trails, how many hashtag posts on Instagram, its proximity to beaches, and the number of things to do according to TripAdvisor.
