Life at CommunityAd – Embracing Change

Embracing change - life at communityad

Autumn is officially here, and I’d like to think we are all embracing change whilst days are getting shorter, the air is cooler and leaves change colour and fall. In line with the seasonal changes, this week has also been full of change and reflecting on change I’d like to draw attention to the fantastic Darwin quote…

“It is not the strongest or the most intelligent who will survive but those who can best manage change. –Charles Darwin”

Here at CommunityAd, we are all fighters, and survivors, and we are constantly reviewing our business operations to be the best at what we do, adapting to change as we go. Read on to find out what has changed this week!

Kat is now back from her honeymoon and she is a fantastic example of someone embracing change as she is absolutely glowing since the change in her marital status! Welcome back Kat, it’s great to have you back. In celebration of Kat’s return, (very much like a bird migrating South during autumn) Kelly has now flown abroad to enjoy a well-deserved break – it has been an intense year in the business recovering from the lockdowns last year which I imagine has affected every single business owner in the UK, so I’m sure Kelly will be embracing change in the form of tropical beaches, rum and free-roaming monkeys! Have a fantastic time Kelly and we look forward to hearing all about your holiday when you come back!

We have had a few absences in our sales team this week due to second Covid jabs and the change in weather however this didn’t stop the rest of us. Again, embracing change in the staffing levels, those of us in sales that did come in this week have well and truly exceeded sales targets so well done to you all!

Special mention to our Sarah who has SMASHED her personal best in digital sales this week. It is amazing to see our digital sales really taking off and increasing in popularity, this week has been a great reminder that our business is headed in the right direction for all the right reasons. It really is fantastic to know that as a business, our efforts during the pandemic last year were not wasted. We embraced the change in which Covid presented us with and developed our advertising options for our customers and now being able to offer both online and print advertising to our customers is brilliant. If you want to talk to us to see how we can help with your advertising needs do get in touch and do keep your ears peeled because we have an exciting announcement in a few weeks which will further boost the value we can add to our advertisers.

Meanwhile, our admin team have all been in fantastic moods this week. Rachel, Chloe and Aimee have been embracing change in their job roles which has now been developed and includes them helping populate our handy online business directory so if you haven’t checked it out yet, do see what businesses are on our directory in your area! Onwards and upwards girls!

This week from editorial, Matt liaised with George Canvin and Sinead Yates where we discussed the wonderful history of the Braintree & Bocking Public Garden’s which first opened in 1888 and how they have been embracing change!  As a registered charity, the gardens are always looking for volunteers and having endured a terrible 19 months through the pandemic, both George and Sinead were delighted to inform Matt that their Christmas Ball and Christmas Grotto will be returning this year! You can read this in our upcoming Braintree CommunityAd Magazine.

Matt also spoke with Rondos Academy Manager Jason Hollick about former youth footballer Josh Tobin who signed a 2-year deal with Chelsea FC earlier this year. Having also played for Kings Hill FC, Jason spoke to us about Josh’s talent and gave his view on how far he feels he can go in the game. Check this out in our upcoming Kings Hill & The Mallings CommunityAd Magazine!

Callum spoke to the 2nd Uckfield Brownies who are still ‘buzzing’ off the reply they received from none other than England Manager Gareth Southgate. Members of the Brownies wrote to the England Team to show their support and let players know they should be proud of what they achieved during the summer, and to ignore all of the abusive messages received. It has been a while since we published our Uckfield magazine due to Covid so we are so excited to be publishing this title again and even better to have such a feel-good story in the upcoming issue of our Uckfield CommunityAd Magazine so don’t forget to take a look!

Now I can’t conclude this blog without mentioning the overeating this week. Embracing change in the weather means there has been a lot of cake, cookies and McDonalds breakfasts consumed this week. Anyone else scoff their face when it gets cold? Sounds like we are all managing the changes well so far in true Darwin mentality, here’s to success!

Other than that, with the sickness and members falling ill this week I’d like to take this opportunity to tell you all to wrap up warm… flu season is here! And, despite the wet weather we have forecasted ahead of us, I wish you all a lovely weekend!
