A free event to help people create wildlife -friendly gardens has been organised by Eastbourne Borough Council.

The “Gardening for Wildlife” drop-in session will be held at Langney Shopping Centre in Kingfisher Drive, Eastbourne, from 10.30am to 1.30pm on Tuesday, 10 March.

Wildlife and gardening experts from the council will be on hand to offer advice to new and experienced gardeners about how they can create food sources, shelter and corridors to encourage wildlife into their garden.

Free wildflower seeds and bird and bug homes will be available for gardeners to take away.

Councillor Jonathan Dow, Cabinet Member for Climate Change, said:

“Wildlife plays such an important part in our ecosystem.

“This is a fantastic opportunity to find out more about how to encourage a variety of creatures into your garden and I hope lots of residents will pop in.”
