Join the Crisis Everybody In campaign and stand against homelessness

Crisis

To quote Crisis’s resident poet Neanderthal Bard “This is twenty first Century Britain” but homelessness still runs rife”. It’s a problem that has been ever present in the media of late, the BBC reported within the last few days that 449 homeless people have died in the past year. This isn’t a new problem but we’re experiencing new highs right across Britain. In a conversation with the performance poet at the fantastic Vinylhead Cafe in Ramsgate, he tells me of the time he spent rough sleeping and how “we’re all just a few steps away from homelessness”. Some of us may have safety nets and communities to rely upon if we fall on hard times but that is not the case for most.

Crisis call upon their Bard to craft a poem into a powerful punchy message, and with the help from a few celebrities the poem is now a viral video and a very good one at that. The poet tells me he doesn’t have Tom Hardy on speed dial and he doesn’t bask in the fifteen minutes of fame, a fifteen minutes he dismisses as ‘five, mate. Its five minutes’. He is a man who cares within his core about the actions of Crisis. He believes in their ten year plan to end homelessness and wants you to as well. Crisis’s video is below. More content concerning this and our interview with the Ramsgate based poet is to follow within the next few days.
