Dover District Council – Parking Charges Freeze For 2019/20

Parking charges in Dover District Council car parks and charges for on street parking in the district are set to be frozen for the third year running, following a decision by Cabinet today.

Charges in Dover District remain amongst the lowest in East Kent and our charging period is the shortest, with Sundays remaining free in most places.

Cabinet has decided that parking charges are to remain at their current levels for 2019/20.  Parking charges were last increased in Dover District on 8 February 2016, after having previously been frozen for four years.

Following a Cabinet decision in 2017, it has also been agreed that parking at Tides Leisure Centre would be free for users of Tides, once the new Dover District Leisure Centre opens, which is planned for February this year.

Cllr Nigel Collor, DDC Cabinet Member for Access, said: “With some of the cheapest car parking charges, and the shortest charging period, we’re working hard to effectively manage car parks to support town centre business.”
