Call it a wrap with standard paper this Christmas!

It’s (insert exciting number of days) until Christmas and I don’t know about you but one of the most exhilarating parts of the day, no matter your age, is the opening of the presents.

The frantic tearing of wrapping paper, the overwhelming sense of joy mixed with the occasional questioning of a gift, makes the day what it is.

However, last year opened my eyes on the beauty that can be done with the presentational elements of wrapping; from bows to miniature fig trees all the way to hand-painted wraps.

In an effort to spice up our wrapping skills, Communityad have scoured the globe in search of some spectacular and festive add-ons to the normal design and here’s what we found:

Faux flowers and Sprig trees: Add some colour to your gift by including faux flowers or natural sprig trees on top after wrapping, either held down by some strong tape or a small amount of glue; either way it will brighten up your gift and make it that tad bit more special for your loved ones.

Tinsel and Jingle Bells: If you were to think of something that symbolises Christmas. other than the man in red or his helpers, it’s tinsel and jingle bells. Why not tape some tinsel around the paper or attach some jingle bells to add a bit more Christmas spirit to your present?

Stick on letters and Chalkboard wrapping paper: Are you struggling to find the right message? Maybe it’s ‘DON’T OPEN EARLY’ for those gift-hunters, or the ‘no-shaking’ for the ones who try to guess beforehand, either way you can personalise a gift to say exactly what you want.

Dated newspaper wrapping from their birthday / printable paper: One of our favourite ideas, to show you really care, is the printing of newspaper articles from previous Christmases or even their birthday and wrapping the gift in that. Alternatively, you can print of personalised wrapping paper to give it that extra personal touch.

Pillowcase sack: What more needs to be said? Grab and old pillow case, a new pillow case might spoil the allure, draw or stamp some Christmas shapes, tie with a ribbon and voila you’re set for Christmas day!

We hope some of these ideas inspire the creative side of our readers, if you do utilise any of these simple tricks, we would love to see the end result!
