BALLET THEATRE UK – THE WIZARD OF OZ

Richard

You’d be hard-pressed to find someone who didn’t know the story of The Wizard of Oz with Dorothy, the Scarecrow, the Tinman and of course the cowardly Lion.

The classic tale by L Frank Braum, written in 1900, was forever ingrained into the consciousness of a global audience when it was adapted into a musical fantasy film in 1939, which is widely regarded as one of the ‘greatest films in cinema history’.  The use of technicolor at the time, was pioneering.

The iconic story has been adapted for ballet by Ballet Theatre UK and they are coming to the Theatre Royal, Margate for your viewing pleasure in February of next year (plenty of time to plan!).  The show has got rave reviews so if you’ve grown up with The Wizard of Oz (who hasn’t?) and you want all the classic stories but in a different format – this show is for you!
