Wild West Spectacular Weekend at Groombridge Place

Calling all Cowboys and Cowgirls to Groombridge Place on 5 and 6 May 2019 for a spectacular and exciting Wild West Weekend.

The Devils Horsemen Wild West show is a fast paced, adrenaline filled performance combining the very best horsemanship with stunt action and is based on Buffalo Bills Wild West show which first came to the UK over a hundred years ago.

The show opens at a gallop as the cowboys and girls charge into the arena flags flying performing intricate manoeuvres on horseback as a team, before moving into the beauty and artistry of high school dressage with a stunning stallion and its rider performing as one dancing to the music, anyone watching will appreciate the harmony that exist between horse and rider and the years of dedication and training it takes to produce this.

The show then steps up the pace again with the trick riding, a breath-taking display of horsemanship. Horses galloping with their riders hanging upside down, standing on their backs, vaulting side to side – if it can be done on the back of a galloping horse these are the guys and girls that can do it!

Audiences will be thrilled by the amazing roman ride race where the riders stand on two horses and race each other at breakneck speed around the arena. Everyone will be amazed at the balance and skill it takes to perform these stunts.

Finally, the show culminates with a real-life shootout complete with a Deadwood Stage Coach as the Sheriff and Jed the stage coach driver try to save Dimond Lil and her gold from the evil bandits. An exciting spectacle that includes comedy and action stunts as the bandits battle it out with the good guys.  Watch to see who will win on the day!

The show also has fantastic music and professional commentary throughout.

Everyone can also join in with the line dancing shows or why not test your rodeo skills on the bucking bronco!

Admission to the Wild West Spectacular will include all the attractions inside Groombridge Place and the Enchanted Forest so why not dress up and play Cowboys and Indians in the famous Fort Grom! or swing through the trees on the amazing Giant Tree Swings and Family Nest Swings.

The recently expanded Crusoe’s World offers a world of new adventures with new rope bridges and walkways and a fabulous new wooden ship for little pirates to enjoy.    A new refreshment area for hot and cold drinks and snacks will be open at Crusoe’s World.

Explore the delightful walled gardens which surround the moated manor house (house not open to the public) and perhaps enjoy a game of chess on the giant outdoor chess set.

Watch the amazing new birds of prey displays which will take place twice daily.

Children can also get creative in the new arts and crafts area.  Face painting will be available for a small additional charge as will canal boat rides which take visitors from the gardens to the Crusoe’s World in the Enchanted Forest.

Directions to Groombridge Place:

Groombridge Place is located in the village of Groombridge, 4 miles south west of Tunbridge Wells on the B2110, which is just off the A264 Tunbridge Wells/ East Grinstead road – on the Kent and East Sussex county border.

By Road: From the M25: Exit at Junction 5 and head south on the A21. After 10 miles, exit at A26 signed Tunbridge Wells: then take A264 to East Grinstead and follow the signs to Groombridge village and Groombridge Place.

By Rail: London Charing Cross to Tunbridge Wells, then bus or taxi to Groombridge. Or take the Spa Valley Railway steam train from Tunbridge Wells West Station to Groombridge Station and take the 10-minute walk to the attraction.
