‘Wheels and Fins Festival’, is a three-day action sports and music festival over looking the ocean at Joss Bay, Broadstairs, Kent. Events include; The UK Mini Ramp Champs, The UK BMX Flatland Champs, Surf & SUP events, Soapbox Racing, Outdoor Main Stage, Live Music Venues, DJ’s, Craft Beer & Cider, Retail Stalls, Awesome Food and way more.
LOCATION
Named after the famous and notorious smuggler Joss Snelling, Joss Bay beach in Broadstairs, offers one of the finest sandy beaches within an easy commute from all over the South East. It is also the closest recognised surf break to London. Over the summer months the beach plays hosts to thousands of surfers and visitors soaking up the sun and the mellow vibes. The festival is only an hour and a half from the capital making it a day trip for any beach thrill seeker. Not many festivals around the UK can boast that.

As part of Wheels and Fins ongoing commitment to the local community and their love of Joss Bay the beach section of the festival will always remain FREE…
There are loads of events and activities already planned with more to be announced for 2017.
Wheels and Fins is totally stoked to be hosting the 2017 UK Mini Ramps Champs for the first time this year. We will be joined by the Skate Pharmacy crew who will oversee the judging and smooth running of the event. Marc Churchell, a loyal Wheels and Fins supporter will be comp MC and general mischief maker. Also a mention for King Ramps who have once again excelled themselves in designing the ramp for this year and it looks rad.
Big thanks to all these guys for helping us make this happen… it has to be said there is something pretty special when you have a ramp that over looks the ocean!! If all that wasn’t enough there will be Resident DJ Jon Kennedy all the way from Prague providing the tunes from the new epic outdoor main stage. This is one absolutely not to miss!!
BMX
UK FLATLAND BMX CHAMPIONSHIPS
We’re stoked to be hosting the UK Flatland BMX Championships once again in 2017. The event was an instant success with the crowd on its introduction to the festival in 2016 and brings you world class flatland BMX athletes battling it out for the UK title. These UK Champs were one of the first events penciled back in the diary for this year and some of the biggest names in the European scene are already booked to be riding.
Watch this space for news and interviews over the coming months. Additionally, the comp will take place in the main dance tent for 2017 with resident DJ Jon Kennedy overseeing the competition beats!
Look out for 3 x World record holder Matti Hemmings and guest judge Effraim Catlow Ex World Number one and X Games competitor.
