The Civic Centre Uckfield is planning a Halloween Family Afternoon  Tea on Saturday 31 October. With families unable to go out trick or treating, this could be a great way to still celebrate the occasion.

Set in a scarily Halloween-dressed room, children can enjoy spooky things to eat and drink (like eyeball jelly slime, spider mini pizzas and mummy’s fingers) while the adults tuck into a traditional afternoon tea.

There is a prize for the best children’s costume at the tea. The Mayor, Councillor Spike Mayhew, will be doing the judging.

During this time of Covid 19, tables are limited to six people, with adults and children remaining at their table throughout. Face coverings must be worn when not seated at the table. The Civic Centre has put in all measures to ensure customers safe and secure enjoyment of this fun event.

CORONAVIRUS UPDATE

The Civic Centre Uckfield re-opened on Monday 6 July in full compliance with the government guidance. Customers wishing to recommence their bookings or look ahead to later in the year, please contact [email protected] or ring 01825 762774.

In order to manage the risk of Covid-19 and to make the Civic Centre a place where you feel safe we have:

• carried out risk assessments for our room hirers, our staff and restaurant
• cleaning, handwashing and hygiene procedures in place for our toilets and key touch points around the building
• reassessed the numbers we can take in each room for bookingsto ensure our customers can maintain a safe distance
• hand sanitiser stations and added screens at both our caretaker and office counters
• introduced facial coverings to be worn in all communal areas of the Civic Centre
• reduced the number of Town Council staff working in the office at any one time
• procedures in place to monitor the temperature of our staff on a daily basis as they enter the building.
