A Warm Welcome For Grant in Sandwich – Business Grants Support Local Businesses

A new café/bar in Sandwich is welcoming news that it is the latest business to be awarded a grant under Dover District Council’s Town Centre Business Grant Scheme.

The owners of The Old Pharmacy on King Street in Sandwich have been awarded a grant of £10,000 from DDC to help with renovation costs. The café/bar has now opened in the town and includes a range of locally sourced produce.

DDC’s grant scheme offers grants of up to £10,000 to bring commercial properties back into use, or up to £1,000 to upgrade or improve the appearance of commercial properties in designated town centre areas in Dover, Deal and Sandwich.

Andrew from The Old Pharmacy said: “We’d like to thank DDC for the grant which helped make this possible. After a lot of hard work and fun we are excited to finally open and look forward to being part of the Sandwich hospitality scene.”

Roger Walton, DDC Strategic Director, said: “This is another great example of how Dover District Council’s Town Centre Business Grant Scheme can help to support local business across the district.”
