A Warm Welcome Follows Latest Town Centre Business Grant

Dover District Local Plan

An independent cafe in Dover is giving a warm welcome to news that it’s the latest business to be awarded a grant under Dover District Council’s new Town Centre Business Grant Scheme.

Brunch on Biggin Street has been awarded a grant of £1,000 from DDC for a shop frontage refurbishment and roof repairs.

DDC’s new grant scheme offers grants of up to £10,000 to bring commercial properties back into use, or to upgrade or improve the appearance of commercial properties in designated town centre areas in Dover, Deal and Sandwich.

Dan and Ellen from Brunch said: “We are very pleased to have been awarded this grant, and would like to say a big thank you to Dover District Council. This will help us to provide further renovations, and we look forward to continuing to provide a high level of service in a warm and welcoming atmosphere in the town.”

Cllr Mike Conolly, DDC Cabinet Member for Corporate Resources and Performance, said: “We’re delighted to have been able to award this grant. This is the third grant made under the new scheme and we would encourage anyone eligible to apply. This is a great example of how our Town Centre Business Grant Scheme can help to support local business and continue to regenerate our town centres.”
