Vintage vehicles get ready for Classic Vehicle Run

Classic cars and motorbikes will cruise around the borough to raise funds for the Mayor of Havant’s Charity Appeal Fund.

On Sunday 14 April, esteemed motors will gather from 8.30am at Havant Borough Council’s Plaza car park before being flagged off at 10am by the Mayor of Havant, Councillor Peter Wade.

Enthusiasts will have the chance to admire the vehicles at Fort Purbrook from midday. Last year, more than 180 vehicles were involved in the event including some that were especially rare and unique.  Fort Purbrook will be running a BBQ, with hot food and beverages available to purchase from noon.

The beloved annual event raises funds for the Mayor’s Charity Appeal Fund, which this year is supporting The Rowans Hospice and Riverside School, Waterlooville. £50,000 has been raised for local charities over the last 14 years of the annual event.

Any car, motorcycle or lorry that pre-dates 1990 can enter. Owners should pre-register by contacting Anne Thurlow, Mayor’s Secretary, via email [email protected] or calling 023 9244 6152. Owners can also donate and register between 8.30am – 9.30am on the day.

At the end of the run, a free prize draw will be held for the drivers that have taken part. There is no entry charge for spectators, but any contribution to the Mayor’s Charities is very much appreciated.

This year’s event is sponsored by Norse South East, who will be providing refreshments for all participants at the start of the event.
