With stunning walks, gorgeous villages filled with rustic pubs and impressive stately homes including the famous Chartwell house where Winston Churchill himself resided, Sevenoaks is a lovely romantic place to spend time with a loved one.

Sevenoaks is host to beautiful countryside walks that you can take to spend quality time with someone, whilst taking in the picturesque views and landmarks in the area. Many of the walks start and end at the pub meaning you could break up the day and treat your partner to a delicious lunch or take advantage of the cold weather and book a pub for an evening meal with a seat next to a fireplace.

Here are some of the best walks to take in Sevenoaks this Valentine’s day that will make you fall in love with Sevenoaks even more:

Knole Park offers a stunning walk through the 24 acres of historic ground; meandering through the gorgeous delicacy of the gardens and witnessing a herd of the park’s 500 deer grazing right next to you is the perfect way to feel closer to nature and enjoy a romantic stroll around the park. You could also take the opportunity to visit the Knole House which has been in the Sackville family for centuries and is known for the famous poet Thomas Sackville who liked to impress his guests. With grand showrooms, a world-class collection of art and splendour in every room, it is a lovely place to look around.

The Darent Valley path takes you along the River Darent and up to Dartford, however, it starts at Sevenoaks Railway station and gives you the opportunity to walk through the tranquillity of the Sevenoaks Wildlife Reserve. Along the route, there are many pubs that you can stop at, including the Bricklayers Arms at the beautiful Chipstead Lake.

Chartwell House has stunning gardens that are cosy and romantic to walk around with benches and little hideaways throughout. The history itself is also fantastic for Valentine’s day as within the house you learn about Churchill’s relationship with his wife.

The One Tree Hill figure-of-eight walk is much longer at 5 miles; however, it takes you from One Tree Hill all the way to the delightful 18th Century mote and gardens, passing the lovely Whiting and Hammond’s gastro pub for that drink you will need.

All of the walks are a brilliant romantic way to spend Valentine’s day and appreciate the beauty and history of Sevenoaks in the easiest way.
