Unlock the last of summer in Hampshire

last of summer

With warmer weather forecast for the week ahead, there’s still time to unlock the last of summer and enjoy great days out at Hampshire County Council’s venues and attractions.

Take a stroll or bike ride through any of Hampshire’s five country parks or visit the furry and feathered friends at Manor or Staunton farms. For those looking to spend time out on the water, hire a kayak at Calshot Activities Centre to explore the spectacular Solent coastline. If you’re a garden enthusiast, don’t miss out on the last of the summer blooms at the world-renowned Sir Harold Hillier Gardens near Romsey.

The County Council’s Executive Member for Recreation and Heritage, Councillor Seán Woodward, said: “Being active and enjoying the outdoors is an important part of boosting your mental wellbeing and maintaining good health. Our dedicated staff are continuing to work extremely hard across all our recreation sites to ensure that people can get out and escape the everyday, with the peace of mind that they and those around them are as safe as possible from further potential spread of coronavirus.

“We’re asking visitors to also do their part to keep Hampshire safe by checking the latest updates for our venues in advance, adhering to the latest social distancing guidelines when they visit, and ensuring they leave our beautiful spaces litter-free for others to enjoy”.
