Ways to Get Rid of Grease

get rid grease

Whenever we talk about Grease, we mean the film, but sometimes we’re talking about the type of grease that lingers on our stovetops or our hobs. Grease has the ability to be stubborn, especially if it’s left to settle for a long time. Therefore, it can be frustrating when you’re scrubbing away with all your might and it’s still present. If you’re dealing with stubborn grease and you’d like to be free from it, here are the different ways to get rid of grease.

Using washing-up liquid

One of the ways to get rid of grease is by simply using washing-up liquid. You should especially purchase washing-up liquid that can easily cut through grease. To use washing-up liquid, you can either utilise a scourer sponge or a microfibre cloth. The next step you should do is to mix a few drops of washing-up liquid with hot water. You should then soak your sponge or your cloth in the water, wiping your stovetop or your hob afterwards. If grease is still present, repeat the process. If your cloth is starting to look dirty, make sure you replace it with a new one to avoid spreading the grease.

Using baking soda and water

Another way to get rid of grease is by using baking soda and water. Baking soda can be used as a cleaning solution on many different stains, including grease. This is due to the fact that baking soda is an alkali, which means it can dissolve grease. To use baking soda, mix 3 tablespoons of it with 1 cup of water. Afterwards, scrub away the grease with a sponge and you should hopefully be grease-free.

Using vinegar

Using vinegar is another way to have a grease-free household. Vinegar is best used for tough grease stains, which means stains that have hardened. To use vinegar efficiently, spray it directly onto the grease stain and leave it for about 5 minutes. After letting the stain soak, the acid in the vinegar will have softened it, making it easier to scrub away. If you want optimum results, spray the vinegar when the surface is hot. For example, if there’s grease in a cooking pot or pan, apply the vinegar right after you’ve used it.

Using flour

This may be an odd suggestion but using flour can help to get rid of any grease stains. However, it’s best to use flour if the grease is a recent stain and is still a liquid. To use flour, just sprinkle some onto the grease stain. The flour will then absorb the grease, making it easier to scrub off.
