MANDY WINTERS – OPENING DORS

PLUS SPECIAL GUEST STAR, 60’S ICON, JESS CONRAD – OBE

Mandy Winters was born into a family steeped in show business tradition. Her father, recording artist Ronnie Winters enjoyed much success in the late ’50’s and 60’s as Columbia Records ‘Yodelling Cowboy’ – Britain’s answer to the great Slim Whitman. In stark contrast Mandy’s mother, Nola, was one of this country’s leading sopranos.

With such a legacy, it is hardly surprising that Mandy herself turned to the business. At the age of 14 she became the lead vocalist of country band AMERICAN BREW. Mandy enjoyed three incredibly successful years with the Brew which included several British and European tours. At the age of 17 Mandy embarked on a solo career which has gone from strength to strength.

To date Mandy’s solo career has been highlighted by 2 sell out tours of CZECHOSLOVAKIA, appearances in the U.S.A, highlighted by appearing at the celebrated NEBRASKA COUNTRY MUSIC FESTIVAL from where she took home the accolade of ‘ENTERTAINER OF THE YEAR’ and ‘FEMALE VOCALIST OF THE YEAR’.

Since going solo Mandy has developed into a truly international artist who is rapidly gaining popularity with not only strict Country followers but also with audiences from all walks of life. In addition, Mandy has the unique talent of yodelling and has undoubtedly become the best female yodeller in Europe.

MILLER PLAYS THE MUSICALS

 

The Astor Big Band and Singers, in association with the Thanet Stage School of the performing arts, present the Hits of Glenn Miller, The Andrews Sisters and Frank Sinatra. The set list includes, ‘In the Mood’, ‘American Patrol’, ‘Moonlight Serenade’, ‘Sing Sing Sing’ and ‘South of the border’.

Plus! The show is full of timeless numbers  form the Musicals including, ‘Les Miserable’, ‘West Side Story’, ‘Chess’, ’42^nd Street’, ‘South Pacific’ and ‘Grease’.

All the iconic songs are arranged in the ‘Miller’ easy listening style. A must for lovers of Musical Shows and Big Bands performed by a cast  of 23 west end session musicians, singers and dancers.

All profits of the Astor Big Band are donated to the Royal British Legion

Flora and Jess are two girls separated by more than a century, but a chance meeting across time leads them to join forces in order to defeat the terrifying Jabberwock, who lurks in the world beyond the mirror.

Adapted from Lewis Carroll’s much loved classic, Through the Looking Glass, Jabberwocky ventures once more in nonsensical world, where the triumph of hope rests with the power of friendship and imagination.

This exciting and innovative new musical production from YMT, is brought to life through the musical vision of Rebecca Applin with Susannah Pearse, alongside Director Luke Sheppard (In the Heights, The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole Aged 13 ¾).

AUDITIONS – THE WIZARD OF OZ – CHRISTMAS PANTO 2017

THE LAUGH-OUT-LOUD FAMILY PANTOMIME

Wicked Productions return to the Theatre Royal for their third spectacular year this Christmas with a pantomime version of, ‘The Wizard of Oz’. We’re on the look out for local talent to perform in this years Christmas Production.

AUDITIONS 10TH SEPTEMBER 2017 AT THE THEATRE ROYAL – MARGATE

MUNCHKINS/KANSAS FOLK/EMERALD CITY RESIDENTS

The search is on for children aged between 5 and 12 to play various roles in the production. Children will need to have a good dance background and sing with confidence.

PROFESSIONAL ENSEMBLE

We also seek a Professional Ensemble to play Various roles in the production including; Munchkins, Emerald city citizens and Kansas Cowfolk.

Auditionees will need to have a very high standard of both singing and dance and be able to play characters within scenes with allocated spoken lines. We are ideally looking for professional Ensemble from the Thanet area. This is a paid contract for professionals only.

So if you think you, or your child, have what it takes we would love to see you at the auditions on the 10th of September.

THEY WILL THEN BE REQUIRED TO REHEARSE WITH THE PRINCIPLE CAST, EVENINGS FROM THE 28TH OF NOVEMBER TO THE 8TH OF DECEMBER.’ Your child is required to attend every rehearsal day, if they can’t… please do not audition. 

‘PROFESSIONAL ENSEMBLE WILL BEGIN REHEARSALS ON MONDAY THE 27TH OF NOVEMBER TO THE 8TH OF DECEMBER. YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO REHEARSE DURING THE DAY INTO THE EVENING. PERFORMANCES START DECEMBER 9TH.’
