Sunken Garden -By the Community For the Community

Sunken Garden

Sunken Garden is a much beloved community gardens that sits embedded in the Royal Pavilion between Westbrook and Westgate has been the focus of a bit of media attention of late. The reason being a society has been formed to help restore the gardens to its regal past. The SGS is headed by gardener Peter Hasted who’s mantra for the project is ‘By the community, for the community’.

CommunityAd visited the gardens during one of the SGS (Sunken Garden Society) volunteer tasks days to document the hard graft that goes on, to plant some daffodils and to chat to some of the super singing volunteers.
