Student Volunteering Week 2018

We are excited to announce that Student Volunteering Week 2018 will take place from 19th – 25th February. Entering its 17th year, Student Volunteering Week aims to celebrate the impact of student volunteers and encourage students to engage in civic life. Student Hubs and the National Union of Students (NUS) are supporting the Student Volunteering Network (SVN) to deliver the campaign.

Student Hubs believes that when students are supported to tackle social challenges, learn about issues and connect with each other, both communities and students benefit. SVW is a brilliant opportunity to demonstrate how social action creates positive change. High quality social action enhances communities and equips young people to become skilled, active citizens.

We are looking forward to building on the success of previous campaigns. Student Volunteering Week 2017 saw 60 Colleges, Universities and Students’ Unions from across the UK take part. Over 55,000 students were involved in various types of social action during the week.

Francis Wight, our Chief Executive Officer, says, ‘Student Hubs is committed to working with universities, community organisations and national organisations like NUS and the #iwill campaign to support high quality student social action year round.’
