Skating sisters set to sparkle for Team GB at Cup Of Europe, Portugal

European Skating Championships

Artistic roller skating sisters Rosie (16) and Kati Rust (13) from Canterbury, are on a roll as they head to Tomar, Portugal, to compete for Team GB at this year’s Cup of Europe.

Rosie, who is current British Champion in the Youth category, and Kati, who took silver at the British Championships in the Espoir category are hoping to continue their success on the international stage in this prestigious competition which runs from 1st to 4th November, and join a team of 14 other skaters to represent Great Britain.

As the highest level competition for under 18’s, the Cup of Europe is one of the premier roller dance competitions in Europe and attracts the sport’s top talent, with skaters requiring a top 3 place for their age range at their national championships.

The sisters will be joined by Ruby O’Brien (11) who also trains at Invicta; one of Kent’s leading artistic roller skating clubs. The Faversham-based club, which has around 150 members, is now a regular at international competitions and is currently home to 2 British Champions. The club also offers international-level coaching in the shape of world-class coach Alessandra Sain Head who teaches the competitive squad. Head Coach Keith Marsh said “Rosie and Kati have both trained very hard and are now becoming regulars on the international circuit. We wish them the best of luck.”
