Have your say on improving Newhaven’s biggest recreation ground

People are being asked their views to help shape the future of Fort Road Recreation Ground in Newhaven.

Recent improvements at the recreation ground include the creation of a pump track and the complete rebuilding of the skate park, which opened last year. Funding is also in place to carry out improvements to the basketball and tennis courts.

Lewes District Council is looking at ways to further improve Fort Road Recreation Ground and has launched a survey to capture the opinions of park users and residents.

Councillor Julie Carr, Cabinet member for Recycling, Waste and Open Spaces, said: “The skate park and pump track is very popular and provides a welcome boost to the facilities on offer in Newhaven.

“We want to make sure that further improvements respond to people’s needs. This survey is an opportunity to have your say on how the recreation ground be enhanced.”

The survey is available online by visiting surveymonkey.co.uk/r/29M52PD and takes just a few minutes to complete.

Anyone with further questions about this project should contact the Open Spaces team at Lewes District Council by email at [email protected] or phone 01273 471600.
