Revised Plans for New Homes at Buckland Hospital Site

Buckland Hospital

Dover District Council is considering revised plans for the redevelopment of the former Buckland Hospital site on Coombe Valley Road in Dover.

Outline planning permission for housing on the brownfield site was granted in November 2019.

A reserved matters application for the Buckland Hospital site seeks to reduce both the scale and density of the proposed development.

Originally envisioned by the developer as a scheme of 150 new units, predominantly flats, the scheme has been extensively revised and now features 81 two- and three-bedroom houses.

Charging points for electric vehicles are proposed for each new home, and at visitor parking spaces.  The revised plans also include a natural and amenity play area.

The planning application can be viewed on the DDC planning portal (reference 20/01084).
