In the upbeat Assembly Simon Roser, who had delivered the award over an entire year of Thursday afternoons, was able to show a video from Prince William congratulating the children for passing. Simon said he hoped the children felt proud. All of them had ‘dared to do your best.’ They had all “challenged themselves” and shown new qualities of ‘self-confidence, discipline, courage and resilience.’

24 pupils started out on the course a year ago and amazingly all 24 graduated! All the children got 2 certificates: The Prince William Explorer Award and a Sports Leadership Certificate. The 24 children were Year 5 and 6 pupils from 3 different classes in the school.

Simon Roser added “It was amazing that all the children from different classes worked together to overcome everything and pass the award. It was great to see by the end the children had become a tight unit with a real team ethic. All of them were looking out for each other. I was so proud of all of them and all they have learnt.”

Primary Resources Manager Natalie Hewitt-Zarb thanked Mr Roser for his work with the children explaining how much they had enjoyed and learnt from the award. The children had really enjoyed the team building, the tug of war, drag the bag and the opportunities to overcome difficulties to graduate.
