Players of People’s Postcode Lottery fund 40 headteachers to attend the PTI School Leadership Residential

The PTI has secured £75,000 in funding thanks to players of People’s Postcode Lottery to support its teacher training charity work in the education sector.

Along with additional funding provided by Priory School the endowment will enable their Head of School Karen Clinton to attend the PTI’s annual School Leadership Residential in Cambridge from 27-28 January.

The PTI School Leadership Residential is a unique opportunity for school leaders to openly discuss important issues within a collaborative peer network. Participants consider how they can enhance and improve their school’s standards and develop the quality of their teachers. They develop long-term strategies to raise standards in their school and meet a diverse community of school leaders from around the country to share leadership strategies that focus on improving teaching and learning, recruiting and developing passionate teachers, and conducting action-based research.

Karen Clinton Head of School at Priory School

Karen Clinton, Head of School at Priory School said:

“The PTI School Leadership Residential is facilitating fascinating, thought-provoking discussions which seek to challenge me and other leaders from a range of schools across the country in a supportive environment. I’m delighted to be spending a couple of days here”.

The funding from the Postcode care trust (a grant-giving charity funded entirely by players of People’s Postcode Lottery), which is part of wider support for The Prince of Wales Charitable Foundation (PWCF), supports the expansion of the PTI School Leadership Programme and helps the PTI to increase the stretch and challenge within schools. In addition to their leadership programme, the PTI provides interactive training modules to help teachers deepen their subject knowledge, connects secondary school teachers together across England and Wales, encourages schools to engage in curriculum improvements, and hosts thought-provoking lectures for the education community.
