Play new lottery and support village causes

collections

Two Aylesham based good causes are among those in the Dover District Council area who have signed up to be beneficiaries of its new lottery.

Dover District Lotto launched in late January and more than half of the money it collects will be distributed among local groups.

Aylesham’s Bechange and Roses Tearoom & Thrift Shop have joined the scheme – more local groups can sign up at any time through a simple web-based application – and can be selected by residents as their chosen beneficiary.

Overall, groups will directly receive 50p in every £1 spent. In addition, 10p in every £1 goes to increasing the funding available for the local community through DDC’s annual Community Grants programme.  Alternatively, players can select for the 60p to go to DDC’s Community Grants.

The lottery is run by an external provider and the Lotto can be played at www.doverlotto.com where you can also register your cause to be a beneficiary and see who is already listed.
